Cupid and Psyche
By Alina LogosAlina Pliushcheva
- Size
- 45x55 cm
- Material & technique
- oil on canvas
The painting depicts the statue of italian sculptor Antonio Canova Psyche revived by Cupid’s kiss from the Hermitage. This is my first experience with oil paints mixed in mastic varnish. Its very different from dammar varnish; the painting has a noble and kinda glass-like sheen.
